Here are some pictures that Chelsie took today. And a few pictures from a recent day trip up to North Bend where we stopped and got some chocolate dipped apples and then went to Snoqualmie Falls.

Where to start, much has happened since the last time I’ve updated this blog.

Kailey is SIX MONTHS OLD!! Crazy how fast time flies! She likes trying new foods, at least most of the time, and is getting bigger every day! She is talking, sitting, and rolling. She is one of those babies that really digests what she sees, hears and touches. She just realized that she controls her hands and fingers, so now see looks at her hands and fingers intently and turns and bends them in front of her face. She loves watching other children and playing with “kitty”. I am not sure if the cat really likes it, but he is the one that comes asking for it. Ever since she was born Kailey has always been pretty mellow. People keep asking us if were going to have more children soon and we keep telling them that we’re not going to any better then Kailey and we’ve decided to pass on anymore. J Although Kailey is a wonderful child we’ll have to consider some more as soon as the Physician Assistant Program is well underway. Well Kailey just had her 6 month old check up with the pediatrician and is doing great! She is now above average in a lot of area other then her weight, so that’s for all the people that think she is small for her age. Remember they are only supposed to double their birth weight by 6months! :) Kailey is wonderful! What can we say we are biased.

I had my interview for the University of Washington Physician Assistant program the 2nd of November. So in October I spent time getting ready for the interview. The interview went great. It is apparently the “peace corps” process of interviews. The process is you and two other applicants go into a room with two interviewers. They then asked everyone the same questions with some variance. Which made it so that you had to be at least somewhat original compared to the other two applicants. There were three rounds of interviews with an essay and English comp. test in between. Then at the very end there was a social to meet with staff who hadn’t interviewed you. It was intense, but I remembered what my Father had told me, “You’re going to graduate school. It might not be this one this year, but you will go.” It helped me be calm during the interview, and really be myself.
I got an acceptance call the Tuesday before Thanksgiving while at work. It was awesome! Since I will be starting the PA program in March I have stopped attending the UW-Bothell BSN program with Chelsie. We have been paying tuition out of pocket and it’s hard to have both of us going while trying to save some money for PA school. I plan to continue to work in the ER at Valley Medical Center until I begin full time on campus in late June. Then I will go per diem!

Chelsie is still working as a labor/delivery nurse at Valley Medical Center’s Birth Center. She has a lot on her plate with finishing her Bachelors at the University of Washington, Working, being the ward’s canning specialist, and most important; being a Mom! She continues to manage everything very well!
So David thinks! J It’s hard trying to do so much. Thank goodness I love my job because this schedule of mine would be a lot harder. Working with pregnant women is blessing no matter whatever I say in the moment. Yes, there are really hard times, but there is nothing more awesome then assisting with the delivery of such beautiful blessings.
School is not my most favorite thing, but I really enjoy learning new things. U of W is a totally different world. Their way of thinking is good, but different. I am taking this toxicology class right now and oh my gosh if you know how much we are killing ourselves and our children you’d freak out. Obviously you need to take all the information into perspective, but there is a lot of things we just don’t we are doing. Anyways, just don’t ever take a toxicology class and then you will never have to fear the things you and your family are introduced in everyday life. Anyways, now that I am starting bore you look at some more pics of our beautiful baby! J She definitely did not get her looks from us.

We also remodeled our main bathroom over the holiday break from school, but Kailey didn't mind using the bathroom on the deck.

Kailey is Nine Weeks Old!!!

Can you believe how quickly time goes by! Kailey is now nine weeks old (Friday). And she is as cute as ever!

Her blessing was this last Sunday. It was nice to have family there.

Well Kailey is now six weeks old! Wow, the time sure does fly! Chelsie has enjoyed her time home with Kailey. I've just finished working three days in a row...three 12 hour shifts in the Emergency Room and I'm ready for a day off! Here are several pictures of Kailey that Chelsie recently took!

The First Post

This is the first post of our "Blog". We have never had one, so this will be a growing experience.

Here is a what's up with the Welsh's.

Kailey is just over five weeks old now, and is growing all too fast. She is a lot of fun! We just went to her pediatrician's office this morning and she is now 9lbs 7 ounces! She has gained two pounds in the last five weeks. It has been fun to listen to her coo and try to talk as she looks around her environment. In an attempt to not miss one moment with her, we've taken close to five billion pictures of her; and with how extremely cute she is...it's hard not to!

Right now she sleeps between 3-5 hours during the night, and eats about every 3 hours during the day. We still have her sleeping in our bedroom in her bassinet, as Chelsie isn't quite ready to let her sleep in her own room.

She also enjoyed having her Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa Welsh over for the weekend.

Chelsie has been taking maternity leave from working as a RN in Labor/Delivery and is debating about when to return to work. She has three months off, but since she will be part-time when she goes back, she is thinking about going back a little early. She is also starting at the UW-Bothell campus for her BSN, so her plate is fairly full. (But we feel it's better for her to finish it now while I'm going...then put it off and never finish it.)

I am continuing for my BSN at the UW-Bothell campus and look forward to having my wife as a carpool and study-buddy. I lucked out with the position rebid in the Emergency Department and work 7am-7pm three days a week. I have been out of residency for about a month and it's been going fairly well. Between quarters I have enjoyed time off with my wife and beautiful baby girl!
